Job Title: Cybersecurity Security Automation and Analytics Engineer Reports to: Location: Senior Manager, Security Engineering Remote applicants must reside in one of the following states that has been approved: Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, and Washington. The role The Security Automation and Analytics Engineer is responsible for locating valuable data and incorporating it into our cyber analytics toolset. This helps us improve our Information Security program. In order to boost the value of our data as a whole, this position focuses on transforming disparate data points into comprehensive insights. The engineer will make it possible to make decisions faster and with more assurance by providing visibility into security blind spots and developing predictive narratives.
The Security Automation & Analytics – Cybersecurity Engineer will provide guidance on maximizing Deckers’ security investments as a global thought leader in data utilization. To protect the organization, this entails coordinating security resources into a unified system that operates at “computer speed” and requires the least amount of human intervention. Your Impact This position’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Enhance our cyber analytics tools by identifying and incorporating data sources.
Utilize and develop APIs, tools, and frameworks to integrate and automate operational tasks and services.
Maintain an accurate and consolidated view of Deckers’ security posture by working with existing security telemetry tools, SIEM solutions, and other data metric reporting products.
Create comprehensive security insights by combining numerous data points.
To identify potential attacks ahead of time, create predictive narratives.
Improve decision-making processes with information that is easy to understand and use.
By researching new technologies, presenting new developments to the Information Security team, and developing data acquisition toolsets and frameworks, Deckers’ security analytics capabilities will become more mature.
In order to assist in the creation of quantitative security dashboards, provide capabilities for reporting and metrics.
Check to see that the Global Security Strategy meets the needs of internal and external customers for privacy and security.
Concentrate on enhancing the intersection of threat hunting and analysis.
Improve the Security Orchestration and Automation Response (SOAR) capabilities of Deckers.
Provide security advice for both new and existing technical solutions, both strategically and tactically.
Facilitate the risk assessment process for information security by reporting on and supervising risk treatment and mitigation efforts.
Inform business units, partners, and customers about information risk, privacy, and raise awareness of these topics.
Tune Web Application Firewalls and DDoS solutions with development teams.
As needed, participate in on-call support.
Improve operational efforts by defining and assisting in small projects.
Contribute to the direction of logging from development tools and websites into Deckers’ SIEM solutions.
Assist security operations analysts in conducting a more in-depth analysis of the events that have been detected.
Drive the creation of an Application Security Testing Orchestration (ASTO) environment in conjunction with DevSecOps.
It may be necessary to occasionally travel to regional or remote offices.
Who You Are A professional with a solid background in cybersecurity, you are analytical and meticulous. You have professional certifications that show your expertise in the field, in addition to a BA/BS degree or experience that is comparable. You thrive on identifying and mitigating security threats and have a genuine passion for cybersecurity analytics. You have exceptional problem-solving skills and a talent for converting intricate security data into useful insights.

$130,000 – $140,000 The advertised salary range reflects the minimum and maximum salaries that are expected of new hires in this position at our Goleta, California location. Location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training, will determine individual pay.
