Job Description: Support and coordinate the drug prior authorization program’s implementation for the outpatient Pharmacy Benefit.
Utilize medication policy and operational principles to evaluate prior authorization requests.
For case-specific drug evaluations, provide drug usage history and other pharmacy benefit-related inquiries to internal business partners.
To resolve inquiries regarding pharmacy benefits, communicate with physicians, office staff, pharmacies, and internal partners.
Communicate formulary alternatives and prior authorization criteria clearly, and when necessary, talk about pharmacy benefit coverage.
