Detailed description of the position Overview of the Patient Management Specialist Position:
We are an online pharmacy that works with self-insured businesses to provide employees with specialty medications at prices that are more affordable. This is an office position with some schedule flexibility. Three days of the week in-office, Friday and Monday are compulsory.
We are looking for a Patient Management Specialist who is very detail-oriented and well-organized to join our healthcare organization. This position’s primary responsibility is to oversee the administrative aspects of patient care. This includes making certain that patient appointments, records, and other processes that are related to them are managed efficiently and coordinated.
The Patient Management Specialist will be essential in enhancing patient experiences and enabling efficient communication between healthcare professionals, patients, and various departments.
Bonus if you have previous experience in pharmacy technology, customer service, or telecommunications!
Responsibilities:
Coordination of Patient Appointments: To ensure effective resource utilization and patient flow, schedule appointments, consultations, and follow-ups for patients.
Confirm and remind patients of upcoming shipments and medication modifications, as well as provide any necessary documentation or instructions.

Documentation and patient records: Maintain and accurately enter patient data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Ensure that patient records, including demographic information, medical history, test results, and treatment plans, are complete and accurate.
When handling sensitive data, safeguard patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Support and communication with patients: Provide assistance, respond to inquiries, and address concerns in a professional and sympathetic manner as the primary point of contact for patients.
Communicate important information to patients, such as appointment changes, medication updates, and follow-up instructions, in conjunction with healthcare providers and staff.
Help patients understand our healthcare options.
Verification: Ensure that accurate billing information is provided by verifying patient benefits and coverage.
Work with billing departments and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or rejections of claims.
Help patients learn about their financial obligations, payment options, and insurance coverage.
Assurance of Quality and Enhancement of Procedures: Propose and implement effective solutions to opportunities to streamline and enhance patient management procedures.
Key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient management should be monitored and evaluated in order to identify areas for improvement and take the necessary steps.
Enhance the patient experience and ensure high-quality care delivery by working with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
(or equivalent experience) bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a field related thereto.
demonstrable experience in a position that is comparable, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as the capacity to effectively multitask and prioritize.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the capacity to empathize with patients and healthcare professionals.
