Essential duties include:
INTAKE REFERRAL COORDINATOR I triages referrals for organ/tissue donor evaluation and responds to all incoming calls and emails.
2. evaluates potential initial donors of tissue in accordance with STA, AATB, and tissue processor criteria to provide transplant-safe tissue.
3. evaluates first-time potential organ donors in accordance with STA and OPTN guidelines in order to provide transplant-safe organs.
4. proficient in electronic donor record documentation.
5. communicates and provides important information about medical screening to other STA departments, processors, and organizations as needed.
6. actively seeks information regarding the most recent transplant and donation issues.
7. corrects data entry in accordance with established timelines when required and notified by Quality Systems.
8. Competent in using STA systems, including but not limited to: MS Office, iTransplant, Q-Pulse, and telephone platforms.
9. as assigned, performs additional tasks.
