Customers’ baggage is handled by the Ground Operations Agent, who is also in charge of loading and unloading on and off the aircraft, marshalling in and pushing back the aircraft, operating ground service equipment (GSE), meeting arriving flights, serving departing flights, assisting customers with special needs, assisting customer service agents as needed, and performing any other duties that are given to them.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Transfer various sizes and weights of luggage and co-mail to and from the aircraft and any applicable baggage areas at the airport.

Ground service equipment operation

escort aircraft into and out of gates.

Handle baggage with care in a proper manner.

Maintain aircraft restrooms.

Make sure that the FAA, TSA, airline, and airport regulations are followed.

As needed, in charge of conducting security checks in the commissary and aircraft.

Requires a high school diploma or GED.

Experience is preferred but not necessary.

 

Physical necessities:

The Airport Agent – Team Member frequently has to walk, stand, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, or climb in order to operate various tools and equipment (hand trucks, carts, ramps, tugs, etc.).

could have to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 pounds.

in a 24-hour situation, may be required to work multiple shifts and days (such as split shifts, delayed flights, etc.).

The position requires regular attendance.

exposure to heights, small spaces, extreme noise (such as an airport with planes, cars, and other machinery), as well as changes in temperature, wind, and light.

ability to work in a small space and to crawl into and out of tight spaces for long periods of time
